Dance Leelanau believes in teaching proper technique for optimal growth. Dance is a disciplinary art form and students will learn vital material and etiquette which they will apply during class, on stage and in their communities outside the dance world.
“Reverence” (bow/curtsey and applause) at the completion of class is the traditional ending for dance instruction. This is the student’s opportunity to show appreciation and respect to the teacher, their fellow class mates, those who brought them to class, the venue, the art form and themselves. This behavior will benefit and carry over into all areas of a student’s life.

Ms. Caitlin (featured in photo), Ms. Hillary and Ms. Jen (featured in photo) are all Dance Leelanau alums. Together they’ve taken class, rehearsed and performed alongside one another. Ms. Caitlin, Ms. Hillary and Ms. Jen had the pleasure of studying underneath Elisa Brabenec (Founder of Dance Leelanau) and Suzy Laskey (previous Owner of Dance Leelanau). They loved how Dance Leelanau connected them with the art form, their instructors and so many friends from different area schools. It’s their mission to keep the convenience of dance training and performance opportunities in Leelanau County. This is their mission of making sure future generations have the same childhood experienced they loved. Ms. Caitlin, Ms. Hillary and Ms. Jen treat their students with respect, dignity and care, which sets a positive atmosphere for exploration and growth.
